I just came by to look at all the beautiful babies you have for adoption right now. I know its just the tip of the iceberg compared to all the ones you probably have at the shelter. I've never met an animal that y'all have taken in that hasn't been full of love and ready to come home and be a new best friend. When I went to Chowan I came to the meetings and the shelter to help out when I could, but I didn't have a driver's license or a car so it limited me a lot. Now that I do, I am in Greenville. :-/
I am so proud of PAWS and all the amazing work that y'all do for animals right here in our community. Thank you for all you do. I love all of you and hope to come up there soon and clean some litterboxes. :)

I brought my cat Matney to the shelter in July of this year and was miserable as could be. But now I'm thankful that I can get her back. As for Mat-Mat (As I call her mostly) I know she is going to be unbearly excited to come back home with me. I thank everybody at PAWS for letting me have a chance at having her back.

I adopted Stella in Nov. 2007. She came to the shelter w/2 sisters, all 3 of them being adults. All 3 were happily and successfully adopted out. The staff & volunteers really care about the animals and have a heart to see them all adopted and placed into good homes. I drove from Smithfield, VA down to Hertford just to get Stella after seeing her on the website and communicating with the staff. I was pleased with the condition of the shelter and the care provided when I arrived. I would not hesitate to adopt from this shelter and would recommend this one above all others. If you cannot adopt, please consider supporting the shelter by volunteering your time with the animals and/or send/drop off donations to care for the animals. You CAN make a lonely animal more comfortable while being sheltered.

I adopted a puppy from here for my daughter and he is the sweetest, loving and smart puppy I have ever seen. I have recommended this facility to numerous people.
